It was a sun filled sky on a warm summer evening. There was a slight wind blowing, rustling through the leaves on the trees. Every so often the sound of a bug buzzing around would be heard. Sitting on a wooden porch was a young boy and an elderly man.
"Grandfather.", the young boy spoke,"Tell me again how come we get to live so close to Iron Keep?"
"Well boy, this mind of mine don't remember as well as it use to, but it started many years ago, ye mum was only a girl then. See that flag flying upon the wall? Thats the flag of Iron Circle, a group of adventures, but it wasn't always so." The old man stared at the flag for a few long seconds, then seemed to look beyond the walls and into the horizon.
The Dark Empire (1999)
"This story started in land called Kesmai. Adventurers from all over were attracted to the gold and riches promised in the Legends of Kesmai. I myself spent my last few years as an adventurer there, till age finally caught up with me. After I stopped adventuring, your grandmother, mother and me still had to eat, so I looked for other types of work. After so many years and battles I wanted something nice and quiet. Hah! Who would of ever thought I had a green thumb! Yes, I became a gardner, and I was a good one too! I began working for a Lady who belonged to a guild calling themselves the Dark Empire. Duchess Kohara was her name and she served King Acer. It was only a few days after I started gardening that she met a young a warrior named Agnorok.
"Now this Agnorok fellow was really green, but he learned fast and after adventuring with the members of Dark Empire he join their guild. On one adventure Mikado was attacked by another human and Agnorok ran to his defense slaying the offender. This was the first time young master Agnorok's blade drew the blood of another person, but not the last. A guild war had started and more blood was spilt before peace came. The guild grew strong but after a long absence of King Acer some tough decisions had to be made. Duchess Kohara, Agnorok, and another named Majestic decided it was time to leave the leaderless guild of Dark Empire and forge their own destiny.
Spirit Warriors (1999)
"Spirit Warriors was formed lead by Kohara, Agnorok, and Majestic. With them were several close friends and trusted warriors. Ativan, Mikado, Towel, Maineack were counted among their number.
"Spirit Warriors adventured in the land of Kesmai but soon these warriors felt a wanderlust that extended beyond the land they lived in. So they eventually left Kesmai and all its Legends behind and traveled looking for new adventures, and I went with them cause there is always a need for a good gardener.
"Eventually they heard the call for adventurers from a powerful wizard named Asheron. So strong was the lure of his call that they called it Asheron's Call. It led them to a place called Dereth. This place was magical and the world was broken into different shards. Spirit Warriors settled on the shard called Morningthaw.
"It wasn't long after settling on Morninthaw that rumors started about a far away shard called Darktide. If these rumors were to be believed about this harsh land, men not only hunted the beasts and denziens of the wild", the old mans voice dropped low and he looked into the eyes of his grandson and whispered "but also other men!" The child having already heard the story giggled and light danced from his eyes.
"At first in secret, to determine the truth of these rumors, Kohara, Agnorok, and Majestic traveled to Darktide. To hide their identities they changed their names and became Kaliaa, Keyel, and Mordakai. What they found shocked them and shook their very souls, the rumors were true. Evil men preyed on others, but there were also goodly folk in the land. Kaliaa and Keyel decided to stay and fight these evil men and Majestic returned to Morningthaw permanently telling others what he found. On Darktide, to their surprise they found Towel had also secretly made his way there. Shortly after Majestic returned to Mornthingthaw Ativan, Naithin and a few others arrived at Darktide to stand beside their fellow warriors. It was a grand reunion! Thankfully they still had need of a good gardener so I followed them there as well.
Keepers of Asheron (2000)
"Now because they followed the call of Asheron and believed in his ideals they renamed the guild Keepers of Asheron and they settled in a town called Lytlethorp. The town which once was a wretched place filled with rabble and men of ill intent, was cleaned up by Keepers of Asheron and became as safe a place as any could be in Darktide. But it wasn't meant to last, soon the streets would run red with blood. You see there was a monster, some say he was just a man, others say he was a Virindi experiment that even those mysterious beings lost control of. Whatever he was men of dark hearts and evil thoughts flocked to him and soon there were so many it became an unstoppable horde. The name of this leader was Blood and he brought his horde to Lytlethorp, and no matter how hard the Keepers of Asheron fought, they could not overcome them, and the town was lost again.
"The Keepers of Asheron then stayed on the move, moving frequently to avoid the bulk of the Blood horde but picking their fights and fighting as often as they could. Even in the harsh environment of Dereth the guild continued to grow, at one point to over 500 members. The ones I can still remember were Beau, Calivan Mol, Immortal One, Xanderm, Whopper, Misheron, Commando, Ookami and Firewalker. They also saved a young boy named Daikos from the influence of one called Og. We stayed on Darktide about two years, in fact you were born there, in a small underground keep. And that dagger hanging over the fireplace, that came from one of the fallen Blood horde. There were many others on Darktide who are worth mentioning, but my memory fails me a lot these days. Many lessons were learned in the harshness of that land, all of which made these young warriors stronger and smarter. So they left Asheron's Call behind and traveled forward, always looking to the future. Some of these warriors decided to stay in Dereth and continue the fight, so when Keepers of Asheron moved on, many friends were left behind.
The Kingdom of Eleador (2001)
From there what was left of the Keepers of Asheron wandered many places looking for adventure. Then one evening in a dirty tavern on some unknown road, they heard a story about a group of mighty mages. These mages were working a powerful spell. This magic spell was going to open up a portal to an entire new world. They heard names of known adventurers from Deryth were gathering in anticipation of this new world to explore, so naturally KoA headed to the gathering location. Soon the leaders of many guilds came together and made plans for when this portal would eventually be opened by the wise wizards. This group of many guilds eventually became known as the Elear and they settled in a land and called it the Kingdom of Eleador.
Unfortunately the wizards found opening a portal to a new world more difficult. In order to ease the pain of waiting these Elear visited a futuristic world of Anarchy but only stayed a few months, soon moving to Dark Age of Camelot. Several months passed as the Elear explored Galahad in Camelot. During this time the King of Eleador disappreared. After months of no word he simply showed up one day and handed his crown to our very own Lady Kaliaa. About this time some old friends from the Defenders of Order came to Eleador.
Now these Elear had left the land of Camelot and sat around a lot in their own kingdom. Soon fights broke out, people became bitter and friends turned on one another. It was a sad thing to see, the Elear had lost their way, their vision was blurred and chaos errupted where once brothers stood side by side. Master Keyel foresaw where things were going, already some of his closest companions were being effected in the turmoil. He pulled those older Keepers of Asheron members closest to him into a secret meeting. Only those in that room knew of this meeting. I only know about it because I was trimming the hedge outside and uh, well I, I just sort of overheard the conversation see.
Now Master Keyel usually has a pretty even head about him, but I could tell by his voice he was pretty upset. He looked at those in the room and asked, no, no, he begged them to leave Eleador and the Elear before it tore them apart as it already had with some of the others. He couldn't bear the thought of his once brothers in arms turning upon one another as some had already done. Time and again he said he was leaving and asked and begged them to leave the Kingdom and come with him. He said the Elear was not worth the friendship and bond that had developed over all those years since he was but a young sword swinger. They could leave and start again, but alas he couldn't convince even one of them to come with him. Twas so sad to see him that way. His head hung low, shoulders drooping in defeat, he simply said "Good bye my friends, God be with you." With that he turned slowly and walked away from every friend he had. The sad look in his eyes betrayed his pain at what he had to do. He had to leave his friends not being able to watch them turn on one another anymore, but it was too late the Elearian poison was already in them he thought.
The rest of KoA stayed in Eleador and continued to fight with other members of the Elear, it was an ugly thing to see. Some of the Elear even called Lady Kaliaa "the witch" instead of the queen. Those were indeed dark days. Eventually Lady Kaliaa and a few others got tired of the political battles and backstabbing that was now an everyday occurance in KoE, and left. But it was too late, being in KoE for so long had done its damage. KoA was dead, its membership scattered.
The Iron Circle (2002)
Two dear friends, Daikos and Animus left KoE at the same time and formed House Morier. Although they have take a darker path, they still remain friends to those who knew them. In many places they would be hunted on sight, but they are still called friends and welcomed here.
Now young master Keyel was beside himself with grief, but when he heard that some of his old friends had separated themselves from KoE he wanted so see them and see how they were. Master Paraley, Lady Umbras, and Madsage were not part of KoA but followed Lady Kaliaa when she left that corrupt Kingdom. There were not many who escaped, only a handful but he was happy see them. Lady Kaliaa asked him to join her once more but he wasn't sure what he should do. They talked many days because he wasn't sure if the Elearian poison still had a hold on their hearts. Once he was conviced they were still the same old companions he joined the small band. But he made it very clear that never again would he let what happened in Eleador happen again. Never again would they give up their identity, never again would he allow outsiders to come between their friendship.
Just days after Keyel returned I was cooking up some dinner, since there wasn't any gardening to do when we traveled I became very good at cooking! "You sure do cook good grandpa, I love your cabbage stew, MMmm.", spoke the garderners grandson.
Well on that night as I was cooking Yablo and Dulin came running into camp yelling and screaming. The Lady Kaliaa, Keyel, Arandar, Shard and the others quickly took up their swords and shields. It didn't take long to see what Yablo and Dulin were yelling about, right behind them came dozens of orc bandits, no doubt wanting whatever treasure we had. There sure was a lot of them, I thought this was it, I was gonna die on an empty stomach. "But you didn't die grandpa! Your right here with me." No my boy I didn't, I sure didn't. These warriors made a circle around the fire and me. Swinging their swords and blocking with their shields they held back the bandits, bodies sorta piled up around em. The fight didn't last long. Those orcs knew they were in trouble after they lost so many of em to our blades. They broke and ran away with only about half their number.
Master Keyel looked at his friends and with that smirk on his face he said, "Not bad for a bunch of old timers." "Aye", Arandar replied, "this little circle worked pretty well. They didn't like the taste of our iron, that's for sure." Then I spoke up and said "Ye all looked like a big circle of iron and steel from in here, and I was glad to be inside your iron circle, ya's saved my life. Hey...... iron circle, I like that. Thats what I'm gonna call you kids from now on. Yep, from now on your my Iron Circle!" The warriors seemed to like the name I gave them and they've been using it ever since. Lady Kalaa, Master Keyel, Lord Arandar and Lord Shard became the first High Council members of this new band.
Soon after that those powerful wizards finally got that spell right and opened that portal to that new world. Lady Kaliaa and her Iron Circle wasted no time going there. They met up with a guild who called themselves Shadow Alliance, led by Div Devlin. At first things went pretty well, but eventually issues of mistrust crept up and accusations started getting thrown around. Iron Circle remembered the past lessons of Eleador and parted ways with Shadow Alliance on somewhat bitter terms which was ok because IC whooped them later on haha.
Covenant of Swords - 2003
Aerynth was the name of this new land and it was under a powerful curse called Shadowbane. There were lots of wars and cities were being built and destroyed weekly it seemed. As they traveled around this new world, they eventually met a small struggling nation which called itself the Covenant of Swords. They even found some old friends there from Dereth, the Defenders of Order (DoO) and The Professionals (PRX). Aerynth was not a good place to be alone because war was everywhere and since the values of CoS matched so closely with Iron Circle's they decided to work with them and became another guild within the CoS nation.
It was during their time in the land of Treachery that the goodly Master Immortalis was befriended. His stout loyalty and truthful heart won over the members of Iron Circle quickly. In time Master Immortalis became a High Council member and helps to rule the Iron Circle to this day. They also met a warrior named Kugrol and some crazy insane priest who called herself Jannah.
Vurith, Daar, Wunjo and Silatar were once members of DoO but left that guild. Since they were already friends with Iron Circle, they were welcomed into the guild when they asked for a place of rest. Unfortunately some in DoO didn't like their change of heart and caused a rift between the guilds, even though some Iron Circle members joined DoO around the same time. Since then the two once close guilds are colder towards each other. Taro was befriended by Wunjo and shortly after meeting the rest of Iron Circle was welcomed into their ranks. About this time a wise healer named Brunhilda also joined the guild.
For a time it was a match made by the gods I believe. DoO left CoS but IC and PRX stayed with them. And slowly this struggling nation and the guilds within, Iron Circle, The Professionals, Cadre Quietus(CQ), House Perilous, and Endless Stand learned how to work with each other and became very strong. In fact they became so strong that nobody could stand against them, even their war hardened enemies whom they once feared, began to know fear when CoS marched to war. The fragments trembled when the CoS war machine was on the move, nothing could stop it, nothing.
Eventually CoS took over the land of Treachery on Aerynth, nobody could withstand their fury. Never before had such a power been seen in Aerynth and not since the land of Aerynth was torn asunder by the gods has force that mighty been seen there. Before the end of Treachery a warrior called Tulen was added to the ranks of IC, a valiant warrior who strongly added to the ranks of Iron Circle.
After the world of Treachery was destroyed some in CoS wanted to see a more united nation; they wanted guilds to give up their identity and be just part of the Covenant. True to their vow years earlier, Iron Circle left CoS in protest. They would not let their identity be taken away again. The Covenant of Swords went through some turblent times then, other guilds of the nation felt the same way, but it was finally decided that it would not become a large single nation but would remain a place where allied guilds could always find friends. So to this day Iron Circle is still a part of the Covenant of Swords.
After several years Iron Circle's time on Aerynth came to an end, although several members still visit from time to time. The guild began to wander, chasing the Final Fantasy, traveling to Lineage 2, and many other places but never finding anything that held their attention for long. But even these times have been good you see. Many new warriors have joined to fight in Iron Circle's cause. Godlywind, Vengeance, Battletank, Nocks, Gozita, Icedrake, Aeori, Mitsune, Pelamar and Uziel have all quested and became Iron Guardians, lending their might and wisdom to the guild.
But I think that's all about to change. I heard the High Council has been talking to their Iron Guardians about some new world recently discovered. A new world, one full of war and warcraft. I think Lady Kaliaa called it the World of Warcraft. If you pay attention you can see they will be leaving for it soon, many of the guardians are returning to the Keep with their bags packed and their mules loaded for a long journey. There is much bustle inside the Keep these days, carts are being loaded and the warriors are in good spirits. Aye it won't be long now till they ride from Iron Keep for a new adventure.
The old man looked at his grandson sitting on his knee. With a grin on his face and a sparkle in his eye he said, "I wonder if they'll have need of a good garderner..."

This is the war Iron Circle has longed to fight for some time. It is a war or magic, arrows, beast, and plate clad warriors on fierce war mounts. It is the war of Azeroth, the war that breaks worlds or makes them. It is the war many have fought, bleed, and died in. Victory comes to those with the tenacity to see it through to the end. Iron Circle’s resolve and its leader’s guidance shall prevail in the days to come. This is the story of this war, this legion of warriors, and their battles.
In Azeroth Iron Circle made its home within the realm of Arthas, amongst the night elves of Darnassus, the dwarves and gnomes of Ironforge, and the humans of Stormwind. Armed with powerful magic, bows of dragon sinew, soothing spells of healing, shields of holy power, attacks from the shadows, and a flurry or melee, Iron Circle set forth to make it’s mark upon the land. From the humble villages they came, becoming more powerful with each step in their journey. Assaulting the Scarlet Crusades stronghold in Tirisfal Glade, the evil troll encampment in Tanaris, and the vile centaur home in Desolace. Through many trials and tribulations the power of the Iron Circle increased. Eventually able to assault the fortress of the Scarlet Crusade in Stratholme, the black flights staging base in Blackrock Spire, and the Scourges base in Scholomance. Treasures of great value and power were found and used by the legions of the Iron Circle. Power was theirs to be had and to use against the enemies that threatened.
A great Alliance was formed between Iron Circle and Cadre Quietus. The objective of the Alliance to conquer the lair of the elemental lord Ragnaros or any other being that threatened the world of Azeroth. Many offences were made against the lord and his elemental cronies. Singed but undaunted Iron Circle pushed on, beating back the evil fire lord’s minions. Great wealth was heaped upon the ranks of Iron Circle. This was but a hollow reward. War, battles and glory were the reward sought. Enemy’s blood running down the blades of great swords and axes, charred enemies upon the battlements, death or the enemy: These were the rewards sought.
As the ranks grew, alliances struck, enemies defeated, Iron Circle found their enemies had fled the field of battle. Only a few brave souls would stand against the might that is Iron Circle and it’s Iron Maiden of War, Kaliaa. Stale was the spoils of the raids within the halls of Ragnaros and the mighty champion of the black flight, Onyxia. Lust for battle against the foes of the realm was the challenges desired.
With regret, but longing for challenges not offered in the realm of Arthas, Iron Circle set forth to a new realm, one of battle lust and glory. One that Iron Circle could forge its destiny, with ample enemies, and glory to be had. To Shadow Moon they went and found themselves within the heart of the Horde. No longer was Ironforge or Stormwind their homes, but Orgrimmar, Thunder Bluff, and Undercity. Orcs, trolls, undead, and tauren filled the ranks. Now the journey had begun. Cries of For the Horde! Were heard and echoed through the realm. Outnumbered and out equipped Iron Circle made its way on Shadow Moon. Great battles soon to follow their arrival, heralds sang of their success in the Arathi Basin and Warsong Gulch. Great beasts and demons fell before their mighty fury. Where Iron Circle goes, deaths to their enemies were soon followed.
The battle to the glory of the Horde and Iron Circle were sure to follow…
To be continued….
***EDIT***Just to note: I have a hard enough time remembering passwords to all the dang accounts I have so remembering when everyone joined the guild and what not is not really my pint-o-Guinness. so if anyone ants to edit this adding in when members joined etc, that would be cool.
